Role overview: Stores, Delivery Driver and General Labourer responsible for stores area, housekeeping, stock levels, material delivery, and support to site teams; follow STAR dynamic risk assessment; promote Bridges values; act as ambassador.
Responsibilities
- Stores Management: manage regional stores area, keep it clean, organised, and secure; receive and check deliveries against delivery notes and log in the relevant systems; liaise with Procurement to maintain appropriate stock and PPE levels; issue and track tools and materials; assist with returns, collections, and inventory organisation; create labels and process stores requisition forms
- General Labouring: support site teams by loading/unloading, lifting and transporting materials; assist with basic installation tasks under supervision of the M&E team; prepare and clean up site areas; wear and promote the correct use of PPE, adhering to all health and safety procedures
- Deliveries and Collections: transport materials, tools, and equipment between office, site, and suppliers; manage the collection and safe disposal or recycling of waste materials; complete relevant waste transfer documentation and ensure legal compliance; liaise with Procurement regarding off-hiring of plant and equipment
- Calibration Handling: deliver and collect items for calibration from suppliers; maintain calibration records and update tracking systems; issue newly calibrated items to staff and ensure compliance with calibration schedules
- Fleet Support: conduct van inspections and report any defects or issues; coordinate MOTs and servicing schedules with drivers; clean company vehicles or arrange valeting services
- Facilities Support: hold a key to the premises and follow proper locking-up procedures; conduct monthly fire extinguisher checks and act as Fire Marshal; ensure building security and site safety measures are followed
- Administration: support printing, laminating, and producing signage for site use; assist the regional team with general administrative tasks as required; Information Security awareness and reporting
- Performance Measures: accurate entry of delivery and stock data; monitoring and maintenance of minimum stock and PPE levels; stores and yard areas maintained to high standards of cleanliness and safety; prompt escalation of delivery and supply issues; secure access to buildings and storage facilities; timely and accurate processing of stores requisitions
