As part of our Apprentice intake for September 2025, we are looking to recruit an Electrical Apprentice to work within our Delivery team, working across our Thames Water sites in the Thames Valley region. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the engineering industry.

The Role: As an Apprentice, you will be working alongside a team of experienced engineers, assisting in electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance across various client sites. You will receive on-the-job training and support to develop your skills and knowledge in electrical engineering. Contracted to 40hrs per week Monday to Friday. Paid hourly, with overtime paid. This is a field-based role. You will be paid your travel time door to door.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance
- Learning how to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Following health and safety procedures and wearing personal protective equipment
- Communicating effectively with team members and clients
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
You will be enrolled at Bath College and operate under a block release schedule. All college days will be done from the Bridges HQ in Midsomer Norton. More details on this at the interview stages.
Requirements:
- Strong interest in electrical engineering
- Enthusiastic and motivated to learn
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- GCSEs in Maths, English and Science (grade 4/C or higher)
- Due to the nature of the work we complete, you must be 18+ years old
- You will sometimes be required to get to site on your own, so a full UK driving license and your own vehicle is necessary
Desirable:
- Previous work experience or education related to engineering
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in mechanical work
