Job Purpose

A working supervisor role, to oversee and manage a team of electricians on several frameworks to be completed across the Thames Valley region for Thames Water.

The Role

  • Contracted to 40hrs per week Monday to Friday.
  • Paid hourly, with all overtime paid. Overtime during the weekends paid at inflated rate.
  • To be responsible for supervising electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and Bridges Health Safety Rules and Essential Standards.
  • Ensure that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project’s quality plan and inspection and test plans.
  • To follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and to be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise.
  • To coach and mentor Electricians, Electrical Improvers/Mates and Apprentices.
  • Promote and demonstrate the Bridges’ values when dealing with peers, staff, customers and clients.
  • Promote positive health and wellbeing amongst their peers.
  • To act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges, supporting the business goals and maintaining the company’s positive reputation.

Requirements

  • ECS Gold Card (essential)
  • SSSTS or SMSTS (essential)
  • Appropriate City Guilds trade Qualification where appropriate
  • Experience within the water/waste water industry
  • Experience Supervising a small team on installations
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider
  • Knowledge of health safety legislation and company procedures
  • Prepared to take responsibility for self and others
  • Full UK driving license
  • Fit to work medical.

Desirable

  • CCNSG and EUSR Inspection and testing certificate
  • Ability to write simple risk assessments
