In addition to our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub, we have targeted family support services which are co‑located with our safeguarding hubs, to provide a continuum of services ranging from early help to intensive provision to families with complex needs. Our Safeguarding teams are located in three community based hubs around the borough. We also have teams who offer expertise in relation to Care Experienced Children, Children with Disabilities, Young People aged 15+ who are entitled to leaving care services and fostering services.
We have remodelled our residential services to ensure there are a range of pathways for children and young people including care leavers. Alongside this, there has been a review of our existing fostering service and some new and innovative approaches to recruit, develop and support foster carer households.
Team Manager, Care Experienced Children Team – Lead and manage the team responsible for Looked After and Accommodated Children up to the age of 15. Consult with Looked After Children in relation to the design of the support service provision, and work with managers/officers across the authority to implement strategies and projects relating to Looked After Children.
In 2023 Children's Social Care launched the 'Signs of Safety' social work model which underpins all of our practice in Bridgend County Borough Children's Services. All new staff will be provided with a suite of training that will support them to develop their practice in line with the principles of the model.
