An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Strategic Commissioning and Placements Team, following new investment to strengthen sufficiency planning and strategic delivery within Children's Services.

This role will play a key part in supporting the development and delivery of strategic commissioning arrangements, helping to ensure the right services and placements are available to meet the needs of children and young people both now and in the future.

Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams and external partners, you will contribute to the strategic planning, commissioning and development of services that support improved outcomes for children and young people. A core focus of the role will be supporting the authority's approach to placement sufficiency, helping to develop a sustainable and high-quality provider market.

The postholder will support a coordinated and proactive approach across the service, helping to analyse demand, shape commissioning plans, develop partnerships with providers and ensure resources are used effectively to deliver high-quality and value-for-money services.

While the role includes oversight of placement commissioning and market engagement, its primary focus is on strategic planning, service development and commissioning activity that strengthens the wider Children's Services system.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

An Enhanced with Children's Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post. The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
