Assistant Cook – Nantymoel Primary
15 hours per week.
Job description
An exciting opportunity has become available within Bridgend County Borough Council Catering Services department. The successful applicant for the position as assistant cook at Nottage Primary School would support the cook with the preparation of universal primary free school meals and the management and co‑ordination of day to day activities within this kitchen, ensuring a quality service is provided to all customers.
- Cover for the Cook in their absence and to cover at other schools within the County Borough.
- Support day to day kitchen activities and coordinate the kitchen’s daily operations.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is required; training will be provided if necessary.
- An Enhanced Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
- The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Working hours
Working hours will be arranged between the hours of 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
