Overview

Occupational Therapist 1 & 2 – 37 hours per week. We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Community Resource Team, delivering short term assessment services to adults in the Bridgend County Borough.

The Community Resource Team is an integrated health and social care service which provides a range of short-term interventions to people in their own homes to promote their independence. Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will need to work efficiently and pro-actively to deliver effective time limited Occupational therapy interventions to support people to remain independent in their own homes.

The successful candidate will hold a defined caseload providing evidence based interventions to promote independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage time efficiently to ensure completion of clinical and non-clinical tasks and effective workload management.
  • Deliver time-limited Occupational therapy interventions to support independence in people’s homes.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions to promote independence and quality of life for adults in the community.
  • Work as part of a team and collaborate with people who have a wide range of disabilities, their carers and families.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
  • Ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
  • Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
  • An Enhanced with Adults Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
  • A valid driving licence is a requirement for this post.
