The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher who is innovative, creative and an inspirational classroom practitioner committed to supporting children's wellbeing and learning. The ideal candidate will have high aspirations and expectations for the pupils they work with.

  • Be an excellent experienced foundation learning classroom practitioner with a sound understanding of the Curriculum for Wales.
  • Be experienced with working with pupils with ALN and catering for their needs (specifically those with Neurodevelopmental needs).
  • Have experience of writing IDPs / delivering IDPs.
  • Be able to provide high quality differentiated learning experiences to support and challenge all learners.
  • Work effectively as part of a successful team.
  • Work effectively with parents and external agencies.
  • Be organised and have excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Liaise and work with parents, governors and the wider community.
  • Work effectively within an AOLE team.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. An Enhanced with Children's Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.

Salary: Teacher's Pay Scale + ALN. Temporary up until August 2027. Llangewydd Junior School is situated in Bridgend and is part of the Bryntirion Cluster of schools. There are 343 pupils on roll aged between seven and eleven years. The school currently has 12 mainstream classes and 2 ALN classes; however, in September we are opening up our third ALN class which will cater for pupils with Neurodevelopmental needs.
