The Council's Finance Department provides a range of effective, efficient and high quality professional services with support to Members, managers, staff, services, schools and a range of external partners in the delivery of the Council's objectives. The department is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager within the Financial Control, Closing and Systems Team to undertake a range of tasks including:

  • Preparation of the statutory accounts for the Council.
  • Preparation of the Council's Capital Strategy.
  • Monitoring capital budgets to ensure that expenditure is properly approved, legal and within budget.
  • Ensuring statutory financial and non-financial returns are completed within deadlines.
  • Managing and developing financial systems and procedures to meet the needs of the Council.
  • Preparation of reports and briefing notes for meetings, Cabinet Members and officers.
  • Working closely with the Council's external auditors and other regulators.
