To manage the operational administration of the Council’s core Financial and Revenues systems in accordance with corporate needs, legislation changes, systems requirements and the needs of individual system users. Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the Council’s Financial and Revenues systems ensuring efficient and effective functionality for all users. You will also lead on the implementation of new software and upgrades to existing software, ensuring fully tested and liaising with relevant software suppliers and users.

The roles includes:

  • Continuous review, development and improvement of systems to meet new initiatives, legislation and objectives.
  • Contribute and collaborate with stakeholders to improve system developments and make better use of system functionality.
  • Training of financial system users on new tools and changes to existing tools.
  • Management, training and development of staff.

The successful candidate will need:

  • QCF (NVQ) Level 4 or equivalent in a related field, or ability to demonstrate significant experience in major financial systems administration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial systems and financial operations within a Local Government environment.
  • Excellent ICT, communication, organisation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate staff to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
  • The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

A Standard criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post. The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post.
