An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Street Works Management Team of the Communities Directorate who are seeking a Street Works Inspector with knowledge and experience of working in a highway network environment. This is an ideal opportunity to expand your knowledge of the maintenance requirements of the highway asset and ensure that the work undertaken by Statutory Undertakers is in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring reinstatements are completed correctly.
- Works are undertaken safely.
- Minimising any necessary disruption to the network.
The role will require an understanding of the highway, its role within a community, reinstatement requirements, and safe working practices within the highway network.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience in undertaking the duties identified in this pack.
- Good arithmetical skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, external companies, and members of the public.
- The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
- Protecting children, young people, or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
