Bridgend County Borough Council's Inclusion Service is seeking to second an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Specialist Teacher to join our Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Emotional, Social and Behavioural Difficulties (ESBD) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to improving outcomes and promoting educational inclusion for children and young people across Bridgend County Borough.
Working under the guidance of the Lead for ASD, SALT and ESBD, the successful candidate will work closely with schools, families and multi-agency partners to support children and young people with additional learning needs, particularly those with ASD and ESBD. The role involves providing specialist assessment, advice, intervention and capacity-building support to schools, as well as delivering professional learning to educational professionals.
The successful applicant will have substantial experience of working with children and young people with Additional Learning Needs, ASD and ESBD, together with experience of assessment, programme planning, monitoring pupil progress and working effectively with families and professionals across education, health and social care services. The ability to build positive relationships, influence practice and contribute to whole-school approaches to inclusion is essential.
We are looking for a skilled practitioner who is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners, is able to work collaboratively across a range of settings and can contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality inclusion services across the local authority. The post also includes line management responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to service development and professional learning across schools.
This post requires a relevant teaching qualification and registration with the Education Workforce Council. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required. The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be advantageous.
