37 hours per week. Social work assistant vacancy in the care experienced team working with 0‑15 year olds on conclusion of care proceedings who are subject to full care orders. The team is highly supportive, driven, and focused on the voice of the child. The vision is to facilitate a multi‑agency team around the family to develop and create permanency for children, keep them safe, happy and healthy, support relationships and help them make sense of their past and current experiences, building a positive future.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside two deputy team managers, two senior practitioners, a team manager, social workers and three other social work assistants.
  • Primarily be secondary allocated children, co‑work and support social workers, completing direct work with children, families and carers.
  • Engage in a strengths‑based approach using the signs of safety/stability model.
  • Participate in induction, supervision, mentoring and professional development.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in Welsh.
  • Enhanced Children’s Barred list criminal record check by the Disclosure & Barring Service.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Commitment to child protection responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work under the council’s Hybrid Working Policy.
