About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, reflective and highly motivated primary school leader to undertake the role of a school Improvement Partner within Bridgend County Borough Council. This is an exciting secondment opportunity to contribute to system-wide improvement, working collaboratively with settings and services to strengthen outcomes for children and young people. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting self-evaluation, driving improvement planning and promoting high-quality practice across the directorate.

Key Responsibilities:

The postholder will work in partnership with schools and settings to support robust self-evaluation and improvement planning, while providing effective challenge and support to leaders to secure improved outcomes. They will identify, share and promote effective practice across the local authority, contributing to strategic priorities and directorate-wide improvement activity. The role will also involve supporting the development of a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, and using data alongside first-hand evidence to inform professional dialogue and next steps.

  • Excellent skills in evaluation, analysis and professional dialogue;

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.

This opportunity is open to internal applicants on a secondment basis. Applicants must have the support of their Chair of Governors.
