This is a key post working at the interface of transport policy, planning and delivery, helping to shape how people move around the borough now and in the future.

The role is responsible for researching, developing, implementing and monitoring the Authority’s transportation policies and strategies in the context of national, regional and local guidance. The role also involves attending site visits, meetings with stakeholders and elected members, public engagement where required, and contributing to the mentoring and support of junior officers within the wider team.

The successful candidate will have significant experience and a strong working knowledge of transport policy, highway matters and land use planning at a local, regional or national level. You will be confident working in a complex environment, able to exercise sound professional judgement, and comfortable balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery.
