A Development Opportunity for Aspiring Leaders
We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff to join us as a Temporary Assistant Team Leader within our Supported Living Service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain valuable experience in a regulated service while being supported by an experienced management team.
You do not need to be an experienced manager. We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong values, a positive approach, and a commitment to supporting others to achieve the best outcomes possible.
About the Service
Our Supported Living Service supports adults with learning disabilities and complex needs to live as independently as possible within their own homes and communities.
We focus on promoting choice, control, independence, and wellbeing while ensuring our practice meets the requirements of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act, RISCA, and Care Inspectorate Wales standards.
About the Role
Working alongside the Supported Living Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills through hands‑on experience.
You will support the day-to-day running of the service, help guide and encourage staff teams, and contribute to maintaining high-quality support for the people we support.
This is an excellent stepping stone for someone considering future progression into Team Leader or Registered Manager roles.
In This Role You Will
- - Develop experience in leading and coordinating shifts
- - Support and motivate colleagues to deliver high-quality, person-centred support
- - Gain experience supervising practice and providing guidance to staff
- - Help ensure care and support plans are implemented effectively
- - Build confidence in decision-making and problem-solving
- - Develop your understanding of service compliance and quality assurance
- - Support safe medication administration in line with BCBC policies
- - Respond appropriately to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and changes in individuals' needs
- - Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies
- - Support new staff members and contribute to a positive learning culture within the service
- - Gain practical experience of leadership within a CIW-regulated environment
What We Are Looking For
- - Have experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs
- - Demonstrate a positive and person-centred approach
- - Are keen to develop leadership and supervisory skills
- - Can communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others
- - Show confidence, initiative, and a willingness to learn
- - Have an understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and professional practice
- - Are registered with Social Care Wales or willing to register
What You Will Gain
- - Build leadership and management skills in a supportive environment
- - Gain practical experience of supervising and leading shifts
- - Develop knowledge of regulatory requirements and service management
- - Learn from experienced managers and leaders
- - Strengthen your confidence in decision-making and accountability
- - Enhance your experience for future career progression opportunities
- - Access training and development relevant to leadership and management
- - Make a direct impact on the quality of life, independence, and wellbeing of the people we support
If you are looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience, develop your leadership potential, and take the next step in your social care journey, we would love to hear from you.
