An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual to help clients at risk of homelessness or living in unsuitable accommodation. We are seeking front line Housing Solutions Advisors to join a team that makes a difference and transforms lives.
Responsibilities
- Undertake homeless assessments and process applications to the Authority's Common Housing Register.
- Produce innovative solutions to prevent homelessness by keeping clients in their homes or finding alternative accommodation.
- Manage complex and detailed casework, ensuring compliance with statutory duties of a local authority.
- Build and manage own caseload to meet Bridgend's service standards, working under pressure and on own initiative.
- Plan and prioritise work effectively and coordinate with partner agencies to reduce reliance on temporary accommodation.
- Respond adaptively to changing circumstances and maintain a high quality housing service.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in detailed homelessness prevention casework and knowledge of homelessness legislation.
- Ability to make enquiries and legal decisions in line with statutory duties.
- Strong problem solving, assertiveness, and sensitivity.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Adaptability and proactive response to changing situations.
- Effective planning and prioritisation to deliver high quality service.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
