We are looking for an enthusiastic officer to support the Council’s waste service. The post holder will fulfil a key role; providing the public with information and guidance on the waste services contract and other street scene environment issues; where appropriate enforcing legislation in relation to any waste, litter, fly tipping, abandoned vehicles, fly posting and dog fouling offences.
You should be familiar with Health & Safety controls and will be investigating issues to enable responses to complaints and issues raised by key stakeholders. Analytical skills alongside a good level of IT skills is therefore essential along with good report writing skills. An overall understanding of the waste service in Bridgend would be desirable.
It is necessary to work in a flexible manner, to cater for the needs of the service at any particular time. The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. A valid driving licence is a requirement for this post. The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post.
