Job title: Personal Assistant

Location: Bettws, Bridgend

Hours of work: 5 hours (evening/weekend)

Rate of pay: £13.75

Introduction:

A committed, caring, and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support with a 10 year old girl who has learning dificulties and challenging behaviour. However, would benefit with support from someone whiling to build a friendship, encourage and take her out into the community to enjoy the clubs and activities she enjoys.

Hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance, most likely spread over the week to fit in with her activities.

This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable her to have the support with the assistance of a PA.

Main Duties

  • Support and encourage her with activities in the community, such as football, cinema and horse riding
  • Support and encourage to try new activities and skills to improve her confidence and abilities.
  • Ensure her safety at all times during your working period.
  • Become a friend and engage in conversations.
  • Local to the area would be beneficial
  • Previous PA experience with children with learning difficulties and behavioural difficulties is preferable

  • Knowledge/experience with challenging behaviour

A full driving license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.

Benefits

  • 5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata).

This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant.
