The predicted salary is between 11 - 16 Β£ per hour.
A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a 17 year old young person looking to gain access into his community to undertake hobbies and interests of his choice. The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance to take him to and from activities of his choice most likely 2 hours a day and spread over the week. The young person will need help with some personal care needs as well keeping him safe as heβs not aware of danger.
This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable the young person to help with his independence as well as social skills with the assistance of a PA, enabling him to live an independent lifestyle. Training can be provided as required and where available.
Requirements:
- Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence and be DBS checked.
- Experience in working with children/young adults with a disability is beneficial to the role.
Main Duties:
- Support and encourage him with gaining independence and enable him to interact socially within his community.
- Promote independence and empower him with making his own choices.
- Provide support with personal care as and when required.
- Support and encourage him with activities such as cinema, theatre, walks and swimming or any other activities that are happening in or around the community.
- Support and encourage him to try new activities and skills to improve his confidence and abilities.
Local knowledge of activities available would be advantageous to this post, as the hours worked will be mostly off-site within the community.
