Join our passionate team at Bridgend College in this flexible, hands-on role sharing your industry expertise with the next generation of aspiring hair stylists. You will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality learning across a range of hairdressing skills, including cutting, styling, and scalp massage. Working on a casual, ad-hoc basis to cover departmental needs, you will play a key role in inspiring learners of all backgrounds and helping them build the practical confidence needed to succeed in the salon industry.

We are looking for an experienced professional with up-to-date salon knowledge and a strong passion for teaching. You must hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Hairdressing and a teaching qualification (or be prepared to obtain this). With excellent interpersonal and digital literacy skills, and the ability to relate to a wide and diverse student population, you will be able to motivate learners of all ages and backgrounds.

Bridgend College recognises its responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students. We apply a rigorous process of checking the suitability of staff and volunteers to work with children and vulnerable adults. The above post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure for child and adult workforce and registration as a FE Teacher with the Education Workforce Council.

Bridgend College understands the value of providing services in Welsh and the need to grow its bilingual workforce. We therefore encourage applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate good Welsh language skills. Please specify in your personal statement whether you would prefer to have your assessment/interview conducted in Welsh.

We are actively seeking to improve representation from all sections of the community and promoting equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from everyone, including people from different backgrounds and communities, and of different ages.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader and we guarantee to interview anyone with a disability if their application meets the essential criteria for the post, and consider them on their abilities. We can also offer reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
