As a leader in advanced manufacturing we are looking for a talented Lead Controls Engineer to oversee and drive the success of engineering projects across multiple sites in the UK. Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of controls engineers across various sites in the UK, ensuring the maintenance and continuous improvement of automated production cells.
- Develop and implement technical strategies to enhance the teams knowledge and problem-solving capabilities in automation systems.
- Modernise PLC platforms and integrated control systems across multiple sites.
- Oversee the integration of advanced technology within new and existing systems.
- Act as the subject matter expert for control systems, automation equipment, and Series equipment processes.
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure the smooth implementation of new products and technologies.
- Current, valid driving license and willingness to travel to various sites across the UK.
- Extensive experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with a focus on automation and robotics.
- Strong background in Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC systems, with the ability to read, interpret, and write PLC code in multiple languages.
- Proven leadership experience, managing teams and overseeing large-scale engineering projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of automation cells, semi-automated equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience implementing new products and technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
