Bridgeman Recruitment Services Ltd (Agency) are currently recruiting for experienced Pipe Layers with Deep Drainage experience for one of our top and Major NW Civil Engineering Contractors. Role Outline As a Pipe Layer (Deep Drainage), you will play a critical role in the installation of underground drainage systems on construction and infrastructure projects. To be successful in this role, you will need to be reliable, safety-conscious, experienced in deep drainage operations, and capable of working effectively within a site team. Main Duties Include (but are not limited to): * Installation of deep drainage systems, including stormwater, foul water, and surface water networks. * Laying concrete, clay, plastic and ductile iron pipes to specification and required tolerances. * Reading and interpreting drainage drawings, plans, and specifications. * Setting out pipe routes and ensuring accurate line and level using lasers and surveying equipment. * Checking gradients and levels for compliance with design requirements. * Installing manholes, inspection chambers, catch pits, headwalls, and associated drainage structures. * Aligning, positioning, and connecting pipes while ensuring watertight joints and seals. * Excavating, grading, and preparing trench bases for pipe installation. * Working safely in deep excavations and around temporary works systems, including trench boxes and shoring. * Backfilling and compacting trenches in accordance with specifications. * Assisting plant operators and banksmen during lifting and pipe installation activities. * Identifying and avoiding existing underground utilities and services. * Carrying out repairs, modifications, and maintenance to drainage systems where required. * Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance at all times. * Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members when required. Essential Requirements * Minimum 2 years' experience as a Pipe Layer with significant exposure to deep drainage works. * Strong understanding of drainage drawings, pipe gradients, and level control. * Experience installing manholes, chambers, and deep drainage infrastructure. * Valid CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card (mandatory). * Good understanding of safe systems of work within deep excavations. * Ability to work collaboratively within a civils or infrastructure team. * Reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining site safety standards. Desirable Qualifications * CPCS or NPORS Dumper/Roller qualification. * Confined Space Training. * EUSR or SHEA accreditation. * First Aid at Work certification. * Street Works (NRSWA) qualification.
