Value of project: Projects are High Rise and General D & B Projects as well as complex cut and carve structures with hydraulic jacking, infilling within retrofit projects and newbuild large towers with deep basements (worth upwards of £40m+)
Scope of works: The role will include but will not be limited to:
- Lead the technical development to unlock complex and interesting projects.
- Unpick invitations for tender and distribute to different disciplines to provide technical solutions.
- Co-ordinating and managing technical answers and prioritising for the overall successful delivery of the tender programme and solution.
- Producing basic to intermediatory programmes utilising Asta.
- Supporting PQQ process and providing technical answers to bid management team.
- Producing temporary works design briefs.
- Creating Outline Method Statements.
- Managing sub-contractor quotation teams to deliver best possible deliverable programmes and prices.
Specific responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting the preconstruction lead working alongside preconstruction managers and estimators to ensure tenders are fully technically considered and can be successfully delivered by site teams.
- Managing producing and giving tender interview presentations.
- Leading site walks to better understand and develop tender strategies.
Reporting to: Pre-Construction Director
Reporting to them: In-house design consultancy, Programmers, 4D/3D/2D technicians, Bid managers, External consultants.
Qualifications/skills Required:
- Industry related degree/Higher level certification.
- Good at presenting ideas clearly both with the written and oral language.
- Experience onsite within RC/build environments with Civil/Structural exposure.
- Able to develop construction sequences and programmes of work for most efficient working methods.
- Ability to present complex ideas for teams of mixed backgrounds via mixed media means (power point presenting/email/workshops etc.)
- Organised individual that works well within a team.
- Experience of using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Programming software.
