Role purpose Produce accurate 2D/3D HVAC drawings and coordinated MEP models to support building-services design and installation, ensuring quality, buildability and compliance with current UK standards and client specifications. Key responsibilities * Create, develop and maintain coordinated MEP (HVAC) Revit models (ductwork, pipework, plant/equipment) and AutoCAD drawings: plans, sections, schematics, details and fabrication sheets. * Produce drawing packages to agreed BIM/CAD standards, naming conventions and QA procedures; manage model/drawing revisions. * Support clash detection/coordination with other disciplines and resolve issues ahead of construction. * Prepare/export schedules, take-offs and deliverables from models; maintain drawing/document registers. * Work with engineers to incorporate design calculations/specs into models and drawings; contribute to design reviews and technical reports. * Ensure compliance with relevant UK building-services standards/guidance (e.g., CIBSE guidance) and project employer’s information requirements (EIR). * Liaise with project managers, site teams, suppliers and subcontractors to accommodate sequencing, access, and prefabrication. Required skills & experience * Demonstrable experience as an HVAC CAD/Revit Technician/Designer in building services. * Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP) and AutoCAD for HVAC; ability to produce coordinated models and clear construction drawings. * Understanding of HVAC systems (ventilation, comfort cooling, VRV/VRF, plantrooms) and typical detailing/coordination requirements. * Familiarity with BIM workflows and common data environments; awareness of clash detection processes (e.g., Navisworks desirable). * Working knowledge of UK building-services conventions/standards and QA processes used in consulting/contracting environments. Desirable * Experience on live UK projects for offices, healthcare, residential or industrial sectors, producing coordinated HVAC models and install packs. * Knowledge of prefabrication/modularisation considerations in model/drawing production. * Exposure to Revit add-ins, family creation, and discipline-specific content management. Tools & platforms * Autodesk Revit (MEP), AutoCAD (essential) * (Nice to have) Navisworks / BIM 360 / CDEs for coordination & issue tracking. Qualifications * HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering (or strong industry experience in a similar CAD/BIM role). * Apprenticeship or training aligned to Building Services Design Technician standards is beneficial.
