The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Surveyor / Estimator to join a growing and forward-thinking contractor. This is a key commercial role within the business, responsible for both pre-construction estimating and post-contract commercial management, ensuring projects are accurately priced and delivered profitably. The successful candidate will be a commercially aware, practical individual with the ability to confidently identify, scope, price and manage works across a range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimating / Pre-Construction
- Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Scope, measure, and price works across a variety of projects
- Prepare and submit detailed and accurate tender submissions
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving options
- Support bid strategy and tender presentations where required
- Manage the commercial lifecycle of projects from award through to final account
- Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and interim applications
- Monitor project costs and ensure effective cost control throughout
- Manage subcontractor packages, including procurement and payments
- Produce and agree final accounts
- Ensure commercial targets and margins are achieved
