The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Surveyor / Estimator to join a growing and forward-thinking contractor. This is a key commercial role within the business, responsible for both pre-construction estimating and post-contract commercial management, ensuring projects are accurately priced and delivered profitably. The successful candidate will be a commercially aware, practical individual with the ability to confidently identify, scope, price and manage works across a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimating / Pre-Construction
  • Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
  • Scope, measure, and price works across a variety of projects
  • Prepare and submit detailed and accurate tender submissions
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
  • Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving options
  • Support bid strategy and tender presentations where required
  • Commercial Management
    • Manage the commercial lifecycle of projects from award through to final account
    • Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and interim applications
    • Monitor project costs and ensure effective cost control throughout
    • Manage subcontractor packages, including procurement and payments
    • Produce and agree final accounts
    • Ensure commercial targets and margins are achieved
