An established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent to oversee the delivery of projects across Yorkshire. This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of site operations on a range of civil engineering schemes, with a strong pipeline of work and long-term career prospects. While projects are primarily regional, flexibility to travel or work away when required is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations on civil engineering projects
- Plan, programme, and coordinate works in line with project requirements
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Oversee setting out activities, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are maintained
- Manage and supervise site teams, including engineers and subcontractors
- Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions where required
- Maintain detailed site records, diaries, and quality documentation
- Support commercial teams with measurements, valuations, and reporting
- Ensure production of as-built drawings in line with client requirements
- Chair or attend site meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
- Promote a professional image and maintain strong client relationships
Requirements
- Valid CSCS Card
- Proven experience working as a Site Agent / Senior Engineer within civil engineering
- Strong background in earthworks, drainage, and reinforced concrete projects
- Good understanding of setting out and surveying processes (GPS, total station, etc.)
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors
- Strong organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal
- IT literate, with experience of site documentation and reporting systems
- Flexible approach to travel and working away
- Ideally HNC/HND/Degree qualified (or working towards) in Civil Engineering
