The Company

Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure and highways projects across the UK. Due to increased workload, they are looking to recruit an experienced Street Works Supervisor to support ongoing night shift operations on a key project in Bristol.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising street works and ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with NRSWA and highways regulations. This is a night shift role working on live highways/civils works and would suit someone with a strong background in utilities, highways, or civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising street works and civils operatives on site
  • Ensuring all works comply with NRSWA regulations
  • Monitoring health & safety standards across site activities
  • Coordinating traffic management and safe working practices
  • Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and local authorities where required
  • Conducting site inspections and ensuring quality standards are maintained
  • Ensuring permits, signage, and documentation are correctly managed
  • Supporting the delivery programme to ensure works are completed on schedule

Requirements

  • Valid NRSWA Street Works Supervisor qualification essential
  • Previous experience working within highways, utilities, or civils projects
  • SSSTS or SMSTS preferred
  • CSCS Card
  • Strong health & safety awareness
  • Ability to work effectively on night shifts within live site environments
  • Good communication and organisational skills
