Site Agent – Civils / Energy ProjectsBlantyre, Scotland
I am currently working on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong and growing presence in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector in Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Agent to join a busy delivery team working on a range of civil engineering-led energy projects, offering long-term stability, progression, and exposure to technically challenging work.
The RoleYou will play a key role in the delivery of renewable energy infrastructure projects across Scotland, working within a civils-focused environment.
The role offers responsibility for end-to-end site delivery, reporting directly to the Project Manager, and overseeing engineering teams, subcontractors, and site operations to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.
Projects will typically involve a mix of:
Reinforced concrete structures and bridges
Large-scale earthworks operations
Underground services and drainage
Road and access construction
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Management
Overall responsibility for successful site delivery
Driving commercial performance and project value
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
Producing and implementing RAMS, ITPs, programmes and waste management plans
Planning and managing project programmes
Coordinating procurement schedules and resource planning
Managing, mentoring and developing site engineering teams
Client & Stakeholder Interface
Acting as the primary site representative with clients, stakeholders and the public
Ensuring final deliverables meet or exceed client expectations
Cost Control
Working closely with the commercial team to manage cost plans
Identifying value engineering opportunities and efficiencies
Maintaining accurate site records and diaries
Challenging existing processes to drive continuous improvement
Reporting
Producing clear and accurate monthly progress reports
Chairing and leading weekly site meetings
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, programme and risk management
Sound understanding of cost control and commercial awareness
Confident communicator with strong leadership and people-management skills
Competent user of Microsoft Office and site reporting systems
SMSTS (preferred but training can be provided)
Able to work independently while contributing positively to wider teams
Willing to work flexibly, including weekends, shift work and working away from home when required
Essential Requirements
Valid CSCS Manager card
Full UK driving licence
First Aid certification
Degree in Civil Engineering or HNC / HND equivalent
CAT & Genny trained
