Accountant for a C.I.C – Volunteer
Bridged Space is a community‑rooted wellness collective that creates spaces for healing, growth, and connection for Black and Brown women. We run low‑cost and free well‑being events in London.
We’re looking for a friendly, detail‑oriented accountant or bookkeeper to support our small but growing Community Interest Company with our first‑year accounts. We use FreeAgent and need help reviewing our setup, categorisation, and preparing for year‑end filing in early January.
What will you be doing?
As a volunteer accountant you will:
- Review our chart of accounts and expense categories to ensure accuracy for a C.I.C.
- Prepare or support with the creation of our year‑end accounts (profit & loss, balance sheet).
- Offer light guidance on best practice for future bookkeeping and tax preparation.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Qualified or experienced in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.
- Familiar with preparing year‑end accounts for small companies or C.I.C.s.
- Confident using FreeAgent.
- Strong understanding of HMRC and Companies House requirements.
- Able to explain things clearly and offer practical guidance.
Desirable Qualities
- Experience with non‑profits, social enterprises, or grant‑funded projects.
- A collaborative, supportive approach – happy to advise founders who are still learning.
Your expertise will help Bridged Space meet its legal obligations, demonstrate transparency to funders and supporters, and strengthen our ability to apply for grants, attract partners, and grow sustainably.
