We are looking for an experienced and skilled Plant Fitter to join our team.

Working from our workshop in Derby and on site as and when required to inspect and repair damaged or faulty items of plant and small tools.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Inspection, fault finding, maintenance and repair to reported faults on Company plant.
  • Reporting on the general condition of faulty plant, including assessment of wear and tear and damage.
  • Accurate record-keeping and timely submission of completed Job Cards for all repairs and maintenance carried out including equipment serial numbers, time taken, parts and consumables used.
  • Timely submission of weekly timesheets.
  • Any other tasks that might reasonably be requested by the Company.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification / post-apprenticeship working as a fitter with groundworks / civil construction or similar heavy duty industrial plant.
  • Relevant vocational qualification from a registered educational establishment – for example, City & Guilds Level 2 certificate as an Engineering Fitter or Automotive Mechanic.
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence.

Responsible for Staff/Equipment

  • All tools and equipment will be provided.
  • The Fitter may be required to perform occasional supervision and on-the-job training of apprentices.
