Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Groundworker role based in Leeds. The Groundworker will carry out a variety of tasks, including slabbing , kerbing and all stage 2 finishing works and utility services. Daily responsibilities include operating or assisting with plant and equipment, setting out work areas, laying concrete and sub-bases, and supporting infrastructure and surfacing works. The role requires adherence to health and safety procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and collaborating with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades to meet project timelines. The Groundworker will contribute to quality workmanship, problem-solving on site, and efficient delivery of civil engineering and groundworks contracts.
Qualifications
- Practical experience in groundworks, including excavation, drainage installation, foundations, and concrete works.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and assist with plant and equipment; CPCS/NPORS or similar plant tickets are desirable.
- Strong understanding of site health and safety standards, safe systems of work, and risk assessments.
- Capability to read and follow basic site drawings, levels, and instructions from supervisors and engineers.
- Reliable team-working skills, good communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving on site.
- CSCS card or equivalent construction safety certification preferred.
- Previous experience in civil engineering or groundworks contracting is beneficial.
- Physical fitness suitable for outdoor, manual work in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work to project schedules, including occasional extended hours if required.
