Due to our consistent growth over the last few years, we are looking for a Commercial Account Executive to join the team to look after an existing portfolio and to grow it out of our Rotherham office. You’ll be fully supported by a dedicated and highly experienced broking support and claims team to ensure you can focus on what you do best, winning and looking after clients.
As a Commercial Account Executive you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional client service, driving growth in client numbers and policies, and ensuring high retention rates within the existing book of business. This role requires strong relationship management, financial discipline, and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
On a day to day basis you’ll be:
- Developing a personal pipeline of new business.
- Adding new introducers to your network.
- Advising clients on New Business Quotations, coverage requirements and ultimately through to their renewals.
- Working with clients to expand and develop their coverage to ensure they have the right cover.
- Liaising with the broking and support team to ensure all documentation is accurate.
- Working in a compliant and timely manner on all cases.
- Ensuring income and subsequently retention targets are achieved and maintained.
- Working with the management team to achieve business objectives and support with the development of colleagues.
- Maintaining compliance with Group and FCA rules and regulations.
- Building strong working relationships with clients, underwriters and wider internal/external stakeholders.
- Assisting clients with day to day queries on their coverage and providing quotations for additional products/increases in cover where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Service
- Deliver outstanding client service to ensure consistently positive outcomes.
- Contribute to the growth of client numbers and policies through proactive engagement and relationship building.
Client Retention
- Achieve 90%+ retention of the current book of business by:
- Engaging early on client renewals to discuss expectations and market conditions.
- Identifying improvements to insurance programmes.
- Attending and actively participating in PRISMS.
- Providing quotations for uninsured risks and identifying gaps in cover.
- Introducing clients to other areas of Brown & Brown where appropriate.
Financial
- Deliver budget expectations in terms of:
- Revenue: Commission, fees, and PCL.
- Operating Profit Margin.
- Manage aged debt to avoid fines for late payment and prevent bad debts.
Markets
- Support Group, Regional, and Hub Broking Strategy.
- Implement re-engineering strategies on client accounts to achieve placement with desirable markets.
Compliance
- Operate in full compliance with FCA regulations and all Brown & Brown, Retail, Regional, and Hub requirements.

Your experience:
- A proven track record across the range of Commercial Insurance market and experience in insurance sales or account management.
- Your skill set will include high level communication (Verbal, Written Video), negotiation, influencing, sales, stakeholder management, delegation and IT skills with a client first mindset.
- You should also be confident in dealing with stakeholders at all levels particularly board level.
- A full driving licence.
