Job Purpose:
Responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of operational and strategic projects, ensuring initiatives are planned, governed, and delivered on time, within scope and budget, and aligned to business objectives. The role works closely with business stakeholders, operational teams, suppliers, and third parties to define requirements, manage delivery plans, control risks and issues, and ensure effective communication and adoption across the business. Would suit someone with a Project Management background who is excellent with people, processes, has a strong understanding of project lifecycles, planning, the Insurance market and can evidence managing multiple concurrent deliveries successfully. Prior experience with Acturis is advantageous, though not required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closure
- Develop and maintain clear project plans, milestones, dependencies and resource requirements
- Ensure delivery of agreed scope, outcomes and benefits
- Work with sponsors and stakeholders to agree objectives, deliverables and success measures
- Act as the central point of coordination between business areas, delivery teams and third parties
- Operate within agreed governance frameworks, ensuring all required artefacts are produced and maintained
- Ensure proper audit trails, documentation and controls are in place to support compliance and assurance
- Produce regular status reports for sponsors and governance forums
- Track project progress against plan, highlighting variances and corrective actions
- Assist the Operational Portfolio and Governance Lead in managing project budgets and costs, ensuring financial transparency and control
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery practices, tools and processes
- Share lessons learned and contribute to consistent standards across the delivery function
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience delivering small to medium‑sized projects through the full lifecycle
- Strong planning, organisation and time‑management skills
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, particularly in reporting and control
- Confident with an ability to work well within virtual teams
- Demonstrates initiative and proactivity, with a resourceful mindset and a drive to enhance work systems and processes
Desirable:
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or a regulated environment
- Experience in PAS systems, migrations, M&A and the operational impacts – preferably Acturis but not essential
- Exposure to operational change, system implementations or process improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of portfolio or change governance frameworks
- Experience working with third‑party suppliers
