We are looking for a Business Analyst to act as the pivotal link between the business and technology teams, translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable specifications that drive the design, build, and configuration of the Group’s Policy Administration System. This includes end-to-end ownership across Policy, Management Information (MI), Accounting, and Claims functionality, ensuring solutions are aligned to business needs and deliver measurable value.
The day to day:
- Work with the business to identify requirements and deliver these as effectively as possible.
- Facilitate workshops to elaborate Epics and capture and document user story mapping and user stories.
- Translate business requirements into high level specification documents for the Nexus development team and/or External partners.
- Work closely with the development team to design solutions in line with business requirements.
- Provide any Gap analysis that you find necessary to ensure a smooth project delivery.
- Work alongside the Delivery Manager and Lead Analyst to ensure that there is prepared work in the back log ready for development sprint planning.
- Provide support to the development teams during the development sprints to ensure successful delivery of requirements.
- System test development work prior to User Acceptance Testing phase to ensure a good quality of work is delivered to all stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication to the business around the development of products and system delivery.
- Work closely with third party supplier Sabrefish where required on design and development issues.
- Take ownership and become the key IT contact during product implementation and assist with the QA and implementation where appropriate.
- Complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuous professional development annually.
- Refer any matter beyond the level of an individual’s experience or authority to the Senior Analyst / Team Lead.
- Become an expert in the Riskwrite Policy Administration system.
- Work closely with all business areas including Underwriting, Accounts, Operations, Finance, Compliance and Claims to ensure that system delivery is in line with group policy and processes.
- To ensure the Riskwrite Development project team are involved in design and solution decisions throughout the specification and analysis process.
- Keep the project manager and/or Senior analyst up to date with timelines for delivery.
- Work closely with your Delivery/Sprint team.
About you:
- Insurance industry experience (mandatory).
- Extensive experience within London market or Lloyd’s.
- Enthusiastic driver/ project management /delivery focus.
- Highly effective communication skills.
- Strong planning and organisation skills.
- Sound judgement and highest level of integrity.
- Knowledge of insurance and policy administration systems.
- Understanding of system possibilities and dependencies.
- Understanding of the MGA model.
- Agile working.
