We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Security Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of a team of Security Officers within a busy retail environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident leader with a strong operational background in the security industry who is committed to maintaining high standards of service delivery, compliance, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and support a team of Security Officers across the site.
  • Conduct staff inductions and coordinate ongoing training and development.
  • Manage performance, attendance, conduct, and employee relations matters in line with company procedures.
  • Carry out investigations where required and maintain accurate records.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, including the Police, Local Authorities, and other external partners.
  • Complete operational audits and ensure compliance with contractual service standards.
  • Monitor performance against agreed service levels and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed, including the completion of risk assessments and promotion of safe working practices.
  • Support payroll administration and maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met, including right-to-work checks, vetting, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records using internal systems and produce reports where required.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory fire safety and health & safety regulations across the site.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a Security Management role.
  • A valid SIA Licence.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Experience managing investigations, performance issues and operational compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to use operational management systems.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and security industry best practice.

This is a hands-on management role suited to someone who can balance operational demands with effective leadership, ensuring a safe, secure and professional environment for all stakeholders.
