Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Despatch Assistant to join their ever-expanding team.

Responsibilities of the Despatch Assistant:

  • Check orders to ensure the correct items and quantity have been packed.
  • Booking of national and international shipments.
  • Create customs documentation for exports, including Commercial Invoices for all exports, packing lists for majority of exports, Certificate of Origin, and Attested Commercial Invoices where required.
  • Obtaining shipping quotations upon request for the Sales team.
  • Contacting customers regarding order shipping requirements.
  • Marking shipments as despatched on Sage 200.
  • Labelling parcels being collected.
  • Emailing customers with their tracking number when required.
  • Scanning orders once despatched for accounts to invoice the orders.
  • Arranging collections.
  • Chasing deliveries when requested by the customer.
  • Monitoring customs clearance delay emails to provide further information to the courier if necessary.
  • Saving and filing of POEs and PODs for any international shipments, and chasing customers for waybills for a POE if they arrange the collection themselves.

Requirements of the Despatch Assistant:

  • At least 3 years previous experience.
  • Experience with imports & exports.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
  • Good judgement and common sense.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
