Stockroom Picking Assistant

Crayford, Kent
Permanent, Full Time
Hours: Monday- Friday days - 38.25 hours per week early finish on a Friday

We are recruiting for a Stockroom Picking Assistant to join an established UK-based manufacturing business in Crayford.

This is a hands-on stockroom/warehouse role supporting the production operation.

You will be responsible for picking products, preparing kits for the factory, checking components, packing goods and ensuring the stockroom remains organised and efficient.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress following successful completion of their probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick products accurately against store picking lists and works orders
  • Prepare kits ready for issue to the factory
  • Maintain and update stockroom bin locations
  • Collate drivers/components ready for packing
  • Inspect products for quality and report any defects
  • Pack products
  • Print and apply labels in line with sales order requirements
  • Identify damaged or faulty goods
  • Keep the stockroom clean, tidy and organised
  • Carry out general warehouse duties as required
  • Support with loading the factory line when required

About You

The ideal candidate will have

  • Recent experience in a similar warehouse, stockroom, stores or picking role
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A reliable and hardworking approach
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team

This is an active role and involves

  • Standing and/or walking for extended periods
  • Regular lifting and moving of products weighing up to 15kg
  • Bending, lifting, reaching above head height, kneeling, crouching and stretching throughout the working day
