Quality Engineer
Location: Bedford
Salary: GBP40,000 – GBP50,000 per year, DoE
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5.30pm. Friday 9am – 3pm

Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their ever-expanding team. As the Quality Engineer you will oversee the quality control processes within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer:
Quality Improvement
Implement formal quality control procedures based on best practices.
Define shop floor processes and procedures in collaboration with operational teams.
Identify and implement new processes and equipment to enhance production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards.
Investigate and report non-conformances and customer complaints.
Carry out internal audits and support supplier audits in collaboration with purchasing teams.
Monitor supplier quality performance criteria and ensure adherence to set standards.
Manage and control equipment calibration.
Data Management & Performance
Collect and analyze quality performance data, including reporting in management review meetings.
Monitor and support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights.
Provide regular quality reports, including technical-related debit notes and customer returns analysis.
Training & Team Support
Conduct quality induction training for all new employees.
Organize and oversee local quality training within the department and factory.
Support teams with documentation and modifications of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Lead and document quality meetings to address ongoing issues and improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Cooperate with purchasing teams to enhance supplier quality performance.
Support client and customer correspondence regarding quality-related inquiries.
Ensure product UL compliance and other regulatory requirements are met.
Align with corporate values, ethics, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments.
Requirements of the Quality Engineer:
Proven experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment.
Leading and managing a team, supporting and guiding
Knowledge of metal component handling, storage, and movement best practices.
Strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
High level of accuracy, responsibility, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Familiarity with MS Office and data management tools.
Commercial and financial awareness related to quality control.
