Full-time/Permanent - Mon to Fri 8am - 5pm. We are working alongside a reputable Heating Contractor, in the search for an experienced Accounts Assistant. This newly created position will provide wide-ranging support across the finance function, with a strong focus on credit control. Designed to offer exposure to all areas of finance, the role is ideal for a motivated individual with 2-3 years' experience in an accounts or finance role, looking to build on their existing skills and progress their career.
Responsibilities
- Credit Control
- Proactively contact customers via phone and email to chase overdue payments
- Resolve payment queries and maintain accurate customer account records
- Accounts Payable Support
- Assist with supplier and employee expense payments
- Upload invoices to customer systems and verify accuracy
- Cash & Reporting
- Prepare and report the daily cash position
- Assist with monthly management accounts and audit preparation
- Reconciliations
- Support intercompany reconciliations across multiple global entities
- Finance Team Support
- Provide cover for purchase ledger activities and general finance tasks
- Contribute to improvements in financial processes, internal controls, and systems
Essential
- 2-3 years' experience in a finance or accounts-based role
- Hands-on experience with credit control and managing customer accounts
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to engage professionally with internal teams and external customers
- Proactive and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with functions such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables is advantageous
- Experience working with finance systems or ERP platforms
