We’re looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Domestic/Laundry Assistant to join the team at Ashworth Grange based in Dewsbury. If you’re creative, organised and passionate about bringing people together, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference every single day.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Domestic/Laundry Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of residents by:
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises and ensuring the efficient laundering of clothes, linens, and other washable items.
The role contributes to a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Laundry Duties:
- Collect, sort, and wash laundry items (e.g., clothing, bed linen, towels).
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and ironing/pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Fold, iron, and store laundered items appropriately.
- Label or identify personal laundry if required.
- Ensure infection control procedures are followed.
- Report any faulty laundry equipment or maintenance issues.
Domestic/Cleaning Duties:
- Clean designated areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and kitchens.
- Vacuum, dust, mop, disinfect surfaces, and remove rubbish as needed.
- Refill supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures in accordance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Notify supervisor of any hazards or repairs needed in the premises.
