As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Head of Employment to grow and develop our Employment Law services. As Head of Employment, you will take responsibility for the growth and development of the Employment team alongside a fee earning role. This role is ideal for an experienced employment solicitor with a strong track record in acting for both employees and employers. It would particularly suit a solicitor with entrepreneurial flair who relishes the challenge of generating new work streams and building up a team. This is a full-time role based in our Hull, Lincoln or Grimsby offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Employment department, providing high quality and commercially focussed legal advice.
- Supervise, mentor and develop members of the Employment Team.
- Monitor and manage the financial performance of the department, including billing, time recording, and work in progress.
- Oversee the efficient handling of all employment matters, ensuring work is appropriately resourced and delivered to a high standard.
- Ensure clients are kept informed and advised at key stages of their matters.
- Contribute to the overall management, strategy and growth of the firm as a member of the Partnership.
- Manage client ledgers and ensure compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules.
Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor with significant experience in Employment Law (5+ PQE).
- Have the ability to run a caseload independently.
- Demonstrate ambition towards partnership.
- Strong technical and drafting skills.
- Experience in handling Employment Tribunal cases.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues.
- Highly organised and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Commercially minded and client-focused.
