As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of the warehouse department. Responsibilities include managing goods in and dispatch operations, maintaining accurate stock rotation, and upholding high housekeeping standards in line with BRC regulations. The role also involves weekly stock takes and requires a proactive, flexible, and safety-conscious approach.
Responsibilities
- Process all goods in promptly and efficiently, completing inbound checks accurately.
- Ensure outbound loads are prepared and dispatched in line with dispatch notes.
- Operate FLT equipment (Reach and Counterbalance) safely and carry out daily pre-use inspections.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with food safety standards.
- Effectively manage time to prioritise and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Work as part of a team, following instructions while also using initiative where required.
- Participate in weekly stock takes and maintain accurate stock records, including date rotation.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement within the warehouse.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy.
Education & Training
- Reach Truck FLT licence (essential)
- Counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 12 months’ experience operating Reach and Counterbalance FLTs.
- Experience in Warehouse Systems for goods in, stock checks, dispatch and stock picking accurately.
- Proficient computer skills, including Excel, data entry, and use of email/software systems.
- Proven experience in stock accuracy, rotation, and stock taking.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, positive, and proactive attitude.
