Notley High School and Sixth Form, part of Bridge AcademyTrust, is an ambitious, improving school rated Strong by Ofsted for Inclusionand Leadership & Governance (May 2026). Inspectors found that adults areprecise in identifying pupils who need help with their reading, with clearsystems in place to identify and target pupils' specific reading needs, andthat leaders make sure staff are well trained to provide the right support.
We are seeking a skilled and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant(Reading) to cover maternity leave from January 2027, supporting pupils whoneed help to develop their reading skill and confidence.
Whilst this is a central role, it is primarily based atNotley High School.

- Delivering targeted reading intervention and support across the school
- Working closely with the SENDCo and the Assistant Headteacher for WholeSchool Reading to identify and support pupils with reading needs
- Full support from an experienced and welcoming team

We are looking for someone who
- Holds HLTA status (or equivalent relevant experience/qualification)
- Has experience delivering structured reading intervention programmes
- Is confident identifying and addressing gaps in pupils' reading ability
- Is committed to inclusive practice and raising outcomes for all pupils
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
