Who are we looking for? A confident and detail-driven Human Resources professional with experience of working in a fast-paced, people-centric environment. You will bring a solid foundation in employment law, a pragmatic approach to employee relations and the ability to balance consistency with empathy.
What you'll be doing: You will report to the Head of Operations in delivering an effective People strategy. The HR Manager will ensure our People processes and policies are compliant, efficient and aligned with the business objectives. This role will focus on a people-centric approach whilst continuously improving employee engagement, development and retention.
- Strive for continuous improvement in the team and manage performance to a high standard.
- Direct line management of the People team (4 FTEs).
- Ensure consistent delivery of our people team processes across all areas of the business.
- Ensure policies are maintained and aligned with up-to-date employment law and our business objectives.
- Deliver improvements to support future scalability.
- Act as first point of escalation for all employee matters e.g. disciplinaries, grievances, sickness etc.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Line Managers on employee issues.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal frameworks.
- Manage and maintain XCD (HRIS) ensuring accuracy of data and reporting capability.
- Provide reporting on key employee statistics with recommendations for areas of improvement and monitoring of key metrics to identify trends.
- Work closely with the Finance team on appropriate reporting.
- Support the Head of Operations on company-wide people projects.
- Be an advocate for the Bridewell values.
Proven experience of working as an HR Manager or equivalent (minimum 5 years). Strong working knowledge of UK employment law. Demonstrable experience of managing a high performing team. Experience of using HRIS and employee engagement platforms. XCD and Officevibe preferable. Experience of managing a vetting process for security personnel essential. Previous experience of working in a fast-paced and scaling business is required and in the cyber security, consulting or technology sector is preferable. Experience of supporting compliance teams with evidence collection for ISO accreditations and ensuring that recommendations are implemented. High attention to detail and highly organised. Hands-on and proactive approach. Trustworthy and discreet with confidential information. Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
