The opportunity
By integrating Bridewell’s Managed Security Services with focused training in all areas of Security Operations, the Bridewell Academy equips candidates with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s cyber security landscape. This holistic approach not only enhances academic offerings but also prepares candidates for successful careers in this critical field, ensuring they are well-equipped to tackle evolving cyber threats.
In the first three months of the Bridewell Academy, you will undergo comprehensive onboarding, where you’ll meet your manager and assigned buddy, who will guide you through the initial stages of your journey. During this time, you’ll gain exposure to our Security and Compliance team, allowing you to familiarise yourself and gain a better understanding of Cyber Security. Alongside this, you will complete the SANS Foundations course, as well as working towards completing the CREST Intrusion Analyst certification and the SC-200: Microsoft Security Operations Analyst certification. These all further strengthen your skills in security operations and threat detection.
Following the initial onboarding, your journey will be structured into three rotations, each lasting six months.
Rotation 1 will focus on the role of a SOC Analyst during the first six months, allowing you to dive deep into security operations, incident response, and monitoring activities, enhancing your practical skills in a critical area of cyber security.
Rotation 2 will offer you the opportunity to choose from six different teams, giving you the flexibility to explore various aspects of cyber security that align with your interests and career goals during the next six months.
Rotation 3 will continue this theme, allowing you to select from another set of six teams, ensuring that by the end of the eighteen-month program, you will have had a broad and diverse experience across the organisation. At the conclusion of each rotation, you will have the opportunity to create and deliver a presentation highlighting the key experiences you’ve gained, your successes, and any challenges you faced. This presentation will also include constructive feedback on how we can enhance the experience for future participants. This structured approach not only fosters your professional growth but also contributes to the continuous improvement of our training programs.

- Day-to-Day Analyst Duties: Manage daily responsibilities, including incident response, tuning alerts, process improvement, and participating in threat hunting efforts. This will help you develop a well-rounded skill set in security operations.
- Support Senior Analysts: Collaborate with your team during internal and client-side escalations, assisting in more complex situations while learning from their expertise.
- Personal Development: Take an active role in your own personal development in cybersecurity and technology, with ongoing support from Bridewell. This may include participating in training sessions, attending workshops, or pursuing relevant certifications to enhance your skills and career progression.
