We are seeking an enthusiastic and meticulous Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer to join our growing manufacturing team in Pontypool.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality professional to play a key role in maintaining and improving our Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards, supporting audits, and driving a culture of quality throughout the business.
Working closely with Production, Operations, and Management teams, you will help ensure our products consistently meet customer expectations and industry standards while supporting our commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring that all products and services meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and OTIF.
Scope of Post
The Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer will be responsible for the effective management of all quality control and compliance activities across the business.
This includes ensuring adherence to company procedures, ISO 9001 standards, and BBA requirements, undertaking raw material inspections, monitoring production processes, supporting product quality assurance, and administering the Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
The role will also lead internal auditing activities, monitor corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining the Company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Developing and controlling quality documentation, procedures, and records.
- Supporting ISO 9001 compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conducting internal audits and supporting external audits.
- Investigating customer complaints and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitoring production processes and quality performance.
- Inspecting finished goods against drawings and specifications.
- Tracking non-conformances and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Supporting Health, Safety and Environmental management systems.
- Producing quality reports and analysing quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Key Relationships and Roles
- Sets examples for personnel in all areas of personal character, commitment, organisational, health & safety and work habits.
- Attend team meetings and communicate with all staff to build motivation and productivity.
- Participates in training from both internal and external providers and applies willingness to learn and develop.
- Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees and work with others to improve production and the overall effectiveness of the company.
- Build relationships with internal and external supplies.
Qualifications
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Compliance role
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Internal Auditor experience or qualification
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of BBA requirements
- Experience using Sage 200
- Knowledge of 5S and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Health & Safety awareness
