About the RoleAs a 7.5 Tonne Driver, you will be handling products for customers with a multi drop service. You will need a high focus on customer service, a willingness to learn and the ability to use a Epod service to obtain proof of deliveries.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a 7.5-tonne vehicle in accordance with all road traffic laws and company policiesComplete scheduled deliveries and collections efficiently and on timeLoad and unload goods where required, ensuring cargo is secured correctlyConduct daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects promptlyComplete delivery paperwork, electronic proof of delivery (POD), and vehicle records accuratelyProvide courteous and professional customer service during all deliveries andcollectionsEnsure compliance with Driver Hours Regulations and Working Time DirectiverequirementsMaintain vehicle cleanliness and present a professional image at all timesCommunicate effectively with the transport office regarding delivery progressFollow health and safety procedures, including manual handling guidelinesReport accidents, incidents, or damage immediatelyWhat We Are Looking ForEssentialFull UK driving licence with Category C1 entitlementValid Driver CPC qualificationValid Digital Tachograph CardGood knowledge of UK road transport regulationsStrong time management and organisational skillsGood communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysically fit and capable of manual handling duties where requiredAbility to follow H & S and Company procedures and policiesDesirablePrevious experience driving a 7.5T vehicleMulti-drop delivery experienceExperience using handheld delivery devices or route management systemsPersonal AttributesReliable and punctualSafety-consciousSome flexibility with working hours when requiredCalm under pressureStrong attention to detailAbility to build and maintain business relationships and communicate effectively and confidentlyWillingness to work as part of a team, sharing knowledge and expertisePersonable, presentable and professionalBenefitsDiscretionary annual company bonus scheme25 days holiday, increasing by 1 day every 2 years, up to a maximum of 30 daysEmployee Assistant Programme (EAP)Cycle to work schemeOffice car parkingEnhanced Sick PayLife assuranceCompany PensionJob overview: Job Types: Full-time, PermanentWorking Days: Monday - FridayWork Location: Ipswich
