Briarwood has a dedicated team of staff, governors and parents/carers who are proud to support 167 children and young people aged 3 to 19 years, rising to 233 in September 2026. We are passionate about their progress, happiness and care.
Role Summary
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Complex Needs Co‑ordinator to join our special school team. This role supports the educational, personal, and social development of pupils with complex needs across the school, particularly at the Junior site (Fishponds).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the educational, personal, and social development of pupils with complex needs across the school, especially at the Junior and Nexus site (Fishponds).
- Coordinate and monitor provision for pupils with complex and multiple needs across the school.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, nurses, and external agencies to ensure effective multidisciplinary support.
- Develop, implement, and monitor effective support plans.
- Respond to behaviour and medical crisis alerts as necessary.
- Foster parental engagement and family link strategies.

Salary and Terms
£27,202 – £30,734 (Actual Salary) Permanent post, 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.45am to 3.45pm, term time only. Working 39 weeks (including 5 inset days), 13 weeks school holidays of which 6.6 weeks paid as annual leave. No entitlement to annual leave during term. Salary dependent on Local Government continuous service.
