We are Hiring! TRUCKINGBY Holdings Ltd has recently opened our own workshop to service and maintain to the highest standards our fleet of modern trucks and 100 strong trailer fleet. We are looking to recruit an experienced trailer mechanic to join our highly trained team with immediate effect. Working from our head office and garage facility in Featherstone, West Yorkshire, the successful applicant will be expected to carry out the following duties as part of their day-to-day responsibilities to keep our fleet safe and roadworthy at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing issues: Identifying mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repairing and replacing parts: Fixing or replacing faulty components.
- Performing maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance including safety inspections, tyre rotations and brake testing.
- Inspecting trailers: Thoroughly examining trailers to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintaining records: Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on each trailer.
- MOT preps: Preparing and presenting trailer for yearly MOT.
- Collaborating with teams: Working with other mechanics to troubleshoot complex problems.
- Adhering to safety protocols: Ensuring a safe working environment by following safety procedures.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 Qualification
- Mechanical aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in heavy vehicles.
- Diagnostic skills: Ability to diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
